Struggling LA-founded fast fashion chain closes store in SF's only thriving mall

Forever 21’s long slide from retail powerhouse to obscurity continues, with the brand’s parent company shuttering Forever 21’s Los Angeles headquarters, laying off hundreds across the state and closing multiple Bay Area stores. 

Local closures include stores in Concord, Gilroy, Hayward, Livermore, Pleasanton, Santa Clara, San Jose and the Stonestown Galleria in San Francisco, according to the East Bay Times. Interestingly, Stonestown is one of the few thriving malls left in the city. Forever 21’s
