Shedeur Sanders of the Cleveland Browns is tackled by Clelin Ferrell of the San Francisco 49ers during the fourth quarter at Huntington Bank Field on Nov. 30, 2025 in Cleveland.

It barely took any time postgame — after the San Francisco 49ers beat the Browns and ruined the first home start for Shedeur Sanders — for someone to make things weird around the rookie quarterback. In this case, that someone was the social media team at one of the NFL’s broadcasting networks. 

Fox posted an eight-second graphic after the Niners won 26-8 on Sunday, showing 49ers mascot Sourdough Sam pushing a wooden crate filled with gold out of a gold mine. But sitting on top of the mine is Sanders, who is tied up by rope to the top of the pile with his helmet next to his side.
