ROBINET: Fun, family and Falls
On a recent Tuesday, I hopped into my sister’s minivan, which believe me, feels nothing like “mini” when you’re used to driving a much smaller vehicle.
However, even though I was the only one in it at the time, later that day it would be filled with four of my family and friends from England, as well as all their luggage, so there I was.
By the time I was near Toronto, I was feeling pretty cocky about the driving experience, so rather than head for that night’s hotel I decided to make a detour to the nearest Lego store, which was actually my first time inside a Canadian one.
This was a somewhat more harrowing drive than the highway experience, so once I was done there, I made a beeline for the hotel to hang out until the group arrived from Calgary.
By that point, they had already been in Canada for almost two weeks, having touched down in Vancouver, then rented a camper van to tour the Rockies.
Judging by the photos I was seeing on Facebook, great times were had in iconic vistas such as Whistler, Jasper and Banff, although there was some disappointment when they arrived at Lake Louise, only to........
