ROBINET: A whirlwind of a road trip
As of this Sunday evening writing, I’m sitting in a room at the Historic Boone Tavern in Berea, Ky.
It’s the last leg of a two-week journey that has seen my friend Marg and I travel to St. Louis, Mo. and on to a reunion with a friend in Georgia and then on to visit with friends in Florida.
Needless to say, it has been a long couple of weeks!
It got off to a bit of a rocky start when the handle of my suitcase snapped off while Donald was taking it downstairs and the entire works crashed to the bottom of the stairs.
As a result, I ended up repacking into another suitcase as the thought of trying to haul a large two-events-three-weather-patterns suitcase around with no handle seemed less than ideal.
The first week was actually devoted to a work trip for yours truly, but Marg was able to tool around St. Louis to her heart’s content.
I had already been there before and can highly recommend the Budweiser Tour which, at least when I was there, included their stunning museum, filled with mementoes from the company’s past and a look at some of the famous Clydesdale horses. And, there may have been beer!
St. Louis is also known for the large arch........
