The predator is box tree moth and it is coming to a garden near you.

Boxwood plants are perhaps the most widely planted evergreen. There is hardly a home garden that doesn’t have at least one. Most have two or three.

Boxwood is often planted as a neat low hedge. My across-the-street neighbour has 14 plants lining the walkway leading to the front door.

Box tree moth was first detected in Toronto in the fall of 2018. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and several partner organizations quickly began monitoring the issue, and within a few years, helped implement a directive to........
