Anthropic devotes a third of IPO prospectus to catastrophic AI risks

The Claude maker dedicated roughly 80 of 261 prospectus pages to risk factors, more than the 48 pages it used to describe its business

Anthropic warned in its IPO prospectus that its AI models could pose "catastrophic or existential risks to humanity," according to Reuters and the Financial Times, which reviewed the filing ahead of its public release.

The prospectus, which has not been made public, allocated roughly 80 of its 261 pages to risk disclosures — outpacing by a wide margin the 48 pages the company gave to describing its own operations, according to CNBC. Anthropic declined to comment.
