Destiny Botelho expands esthetic services in Buckhorn community
New services are coming to life in the Buckhorn area as Sandy Beach resident Destiny Botelho expands her offerings.
Bringing a strong foundation of knowledge to her clients, Botelho has studied medical esthetics at both Oxford College in Peterborough and Centennial College.
So, what exactly are medical esthetics? The field covers treatments like microneedling — even for active acne — along with chemical peels, skin tightening, rejuvenation, waxing and facials. Botelho is also certified to use lasers. So far, facials seem to be a client favourite, whether you choose them for hydration, relaxation or acne treatment.
Recently, another area esthetician moved into a new field, leaving her manicure and pedicure customers searching for a new person. Botelho has added those skills to her business to help fill the gap.
She has also found a new place to welcome her clients. Botelho will be working out of a section of The Hair House at 470 Robinson Rd., located at the end of the convenience store plaza and in front of Foodland. She hopes to be set up and offering manicures and pedicures at this new address by April 1.
She will take appointments only. If you are looking for a spring pedicure to bring on the spring season, call her at 249-357-8250.
The Lions Club’s annual Easter egg hunt with the Easter Bunny plus a pancake breakfast is hopping down the road. The pancake breakfast will fill the Easter Bunny’s tummy and all those attending.
The event takes place Saturday, April 4, with the pancake breakfast starting at 9 a.m. I can smell it now: maple syrup, butter and pancakes. Donations are appreciated. The egg hunt begins at 10 a.m. You can find as many as you can handle. The smaller kids are usually given a head start.
Come and get your chocolate and maybe a picture with the Easter Bunny.
The Buckhorn Lions Summer Soccer program is returning this year. Supported by the Lions Club and Foodland, the popular eight-week program is led by Andy and Sue Hing. Registration closes April 15.
The program begins June 9 at Buckhorn Public School, 1783 Lakehurst Rd. A fee of $80 covers the practice, a jersey and a ball.
Seven- and eight-year-olds practise on Tuesdays at 6 p.m. from June 9 to July 28. Nine- and 10-year-olds start at 8 p.m. those days. Eleven- and 12-year-olds start Wednesday, June 10 at 6 p.m. and run through to Aug. 5.
