Former teaching colleagues help Terry Stephens celebrate 90th birthday
There is nothing like a special occasion to bring old friends and acquaintances back together again.
A few weeks back retired Norwood District High School (NDHS) teacher Terry Stephens celebrated his 90th birthday with a party in his honour at the Asphodel Community Centre. Mr. Stephens himself admitted he really was not expecting a lot of people besides family and a few friends. What happened instead was an impromptu reunion of sorts with a host of former NDHS teachers and colleagues dropping in to bring their best wishes and share a few memories from their teaching days together.
Alongside his many family members and numerous friends his former contemporaries filled the Community Centre’s Millennium Room with well-wishers.
Terry Stephens started at Norwood District High School in 1960, serving most of that teaching science (at least that is what he taught when I was a student at Norwood High).
