Oilers beat Blackhawks 3-1, tie Ducks for Pacific Division lead: Recap, Reaction and Highlights

Just like that, the Edmonton Oilers are starting to look like the team that made two consecutive Stanley Cup Finals.

On Thursday evening, the Oilers were hunting their first five-game win streak of the season, doing just that thanks to a 3-1 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks. It put the Oilers in a tie with the Anaheim Ducks for top spot in the Pacific Division.

Let’s take a look at what went on in this one!

The two teams remained scoreless after a tightly contested first period. In the second period, the Oilers started to generate some chances and eventually scored the opening goal. Six minutes into the period, a great defensive play by Darnell Nurse at the Oilers’ blue line forced a turnover, and Jack Roslovic found Adam Henrique for a breakaway. His initial backhand shot was saved, but he was able to bat in the rebound for his first goal in 51 games.
