Luca Ciopaca, 19, was at the wheel of a Mercedes E class when it hit a pedestrian as he crossed the road.

The accident on March 2 last year on the A140 Norwich ring road, at the junction of Guardian Road and Bowthorpe Road, left the man he struck with serious injuries.

Ciopaca, of Firtree Road in Thorpe St Andrew, had been due to stand trial at Norwich Magistrates’ Court charged with causing serious injury by careless driving.
