Simon Robinson, 53, was previously given a suspended sentence after he hit a man while fleeing from Asda in a stolen car as staff attempted to stop him.

The 53-year-old, who had six previous convictions for 11 offences including several for thefts, was later arrested after being pursued by police at high speed.
