Work under way to transform former Norwich pub site into new homes
The former Earl of Leicester pub (Image: Newsquest) The Earl of Leicester pub was flattened in 2005 to make way for housing but the fenced off site between Dereham Road and Bowthorpe Road in Norwich became a eyesore despite repeated pleas for something to be done.
The former pub site had become a waste-ground (Image: Peter Walsh, Newsquest) But with plans for nine homes now approved work at the site of the former pub - which dated back to 1843 and survived Luftwaffe bombing raids of the Second World War - has begun.
