Man who tried to throw ex-partner down well on Norfolk estate jailed for 24 years

Douglas Clifton Brown - an Old Etonian from a distinguished family which has produced eight MPs, including a serving Tory - attacked Camilla Welby after they left a drinks party at a friends’ house.

Norwich Crown Court (Image: Peter Walsh, Newsquest) Imposing the 24-year-sentence Judge Alice Robinson said Clifton Brown had formed "a murderous plan" to throw Miss Welby down the well on the journey to High House.
