Alcohol treatment order for Norfolk lifeboatman who previously strangled partner
Karl Purenins, who used to work on the Caister lifeboat, walked up behind the victim while she was in their bedroom and grabbed her around the throat before dragging her into the bathroom.
She told neighbours who came to intervene: "He's trying to kill me."
Purenins was sentenced to 20 months in prison, suspended for 24 months, in December last year after he previously admitted intentional strangulation.
