Home Office considering at least 13 sites for asylum housing in Norfolk
The properties are in the North Norfolk, South Norfolk and Broadland district council areas.
There are understood to be several more Norfolk locations also under consideration in Norwich, Great Yarmouth, and West Norfolk, as well as in East Suffolk, but councils in those areas refused to disclose any details.

Breckland has said it has not been approached by the Home Office or government contractors at this time.
The Norfolk and Waveney sites being considered by the Home Office are not necessarily hotels, as the government is trying to reduce its use of such venues, which cost £9m a day.
Instead, they could be houses in multiple occupation (HMOs) or other large properties, such as former care homes.

The revelation comes at a time of mounting tension over the accommodation of migrants in communities.
There have already been protests against asylum hotels in Diss and Bowthorpe, as well as elsewhere in the UK.
Experts have warned of the possibility of more flashpoints over the summer as public debate over migration intensifies and the number of small boat crossings in the Channel continues to rise.
