Fresh details emerge over why major Norfolk festival was cancelled
But it appears the organisers of the Balloons and Tunes festival may have been full of hot air themselves as they failed to get the correct paperwork in order for the event to go ahead.
South Norfolk Council has said Extreme Events LTD, which was behind the two-day festival at the Norfolk Showground, had not submitted a valid application for an event licence.
An attempt had been made to submit a premises licence on August 13, a month before it was due to take place.

However, a premises licence can take up to two months to process due to statutory timescales set by national legislation, a SNC spokeswoman said.
