Boats continue to disappear from the waterways year on year, adding to the financial pressures facing organisations and businesses in the Norfolk Broads.

It has led Navigation Committee members to recommend an average 3.5pc rise in toll fees for next year to help cover a shortfall in income for the BA.

Members said this hike was needed so services could continue unaffected and to provide enough income to meet the growing costs of maintenance and help keep visitors safe.
