Historians demand urgent action to save burned building
The Victorian Society is urging City Hall to take enforcement action in an effort to save the privately owned Trowse Pumping Station from ruin.
Morgan Ellis Leah, southern conservation adviser at The Victorian Society, said: “The council must use their enforcement authorities to safeguard the future of this Grade-II heritage asset.
The pumping station in Trowse (Image: Sam Barker @skyscout_) “Just because the pumping tower was a practical building, it does not mean it is without historical, visual or social relevance: it deserves restoration and sympathetic re-use.
“Despite being privately owned, Trowse pumping station has been left derelict for some time.
