Decision looms on controversial affordable homes cutback

Persimmon Homes, which is developing around 780 houses on the site of the former Royal Norwich Golf Club, has claimed that rising costs have made previous pledges on low-cost properties unviable.

The developer has been awaiting approval from Broadland councillors, after two meetings on the decision were deferred in recent months.

The development in Hellesdon was given the green light in 2016 and was originally planned to build 1,000 homes.
