Laurence Betts was last month sentenced to four years and four months for repeatedly stabbing one victim and punching and stamping on another up to 30 times.
Three weeks into his sentence, he appeared at Norwich Magistrates’ Court via video link from prison and admitted a separate offence of attacking his own partner on the beach in Southwold on September 1.
Witnesses had called police after seeing a woman being hit four or five times in front of children and holidaymakers, the court was told.
Betts, of Hotson Road, Southwold, pleaded guilty to assault by beating.
District Judge Matthew Bone sentenced the 32-year-old to eight weeks to be served concurrent to his existing jail term.
