City folk divided on revamp of Chapelfield Gardens bandstand
But in recent years, the Chapelfield Gardens bandstand has been falling into decay and neglect.
This has prompted Historic England’s Heritage, a government body, to give more than £300,000 to help renovate the Victorian structure.
The money will be used to replace rotten timbers, add a brand-new deck, refresh flower beds and restore steps.
With a total of £315,249 being spent on the site we took to the city streets to find out whether this is a good use of money funded by the government through the National Lottery.
