The Green group at Norwich City Council revived its bid to bestow the 'freedom of the city' on the unusual recipient this week.

The title is awarded to a person or organisation to recognise their contribution to Norwich.

Previous recipients include Norwich City Football Club and the founders of the Sainsbury Centre.

Labour councillors said the idea of giving the honour to the Wensum was "silliness" and agreed to quash the proposal for the second time.
