Eagle-eyed critics slam council's £200k investment into 'peeling' clock face
Norwich City Council has been lambasted for the "low-quality" gilding which was completed as part of a £200,000 restoration project eight years ago.
Speaking at a recent meeting, a member of the public demanded answers about the "failure" of works and accused the council of commissioning a "rushed" job.
And while councillors defended the investment, they conceded repairs are required and said this could be incorporated with proposals to extend City Hall with a new hotel complex or flats.
