The Norwich-based insurance company has entered into an investment partnership with City Hall to lead works on the site.

This will give the company strong steering power over the direction of the £350m revamp, which will see the area transformed with 1,100 new homes, offices, shops and leisure space.

A spokeswoman for Aviva said the company could not comment on whether it planned to relocate its operations to Anglia Square following the redevelopment.
