Michael Tooby, known as Mike, became a popular face among students in Norfolk, as well as musical communities.

Originally from Wakefield, Mr Tooby moved to Norwich at the age of 11 where he became a chorister, and eventually head chorister, at St Peter Mancroft Church.

After leaving to study at the Royal College of Music, and then on to complete teacher training near Reading, he returned to Norfolk as he had been been headhunted for a job opportunity with Sprowston High School.
