Former Coldstream Guardsman and minister who made his home in Norfolk dies aged 97
Pastor David Gosling became involved with the Wycliffe Bible Translators, whose mission is to translate the Bible into every spoken language.
He eventually went on to run the Wycliff office in order to free up those with translating skills.
And after his retirement, he was ordained as a non-stipendiary minister in the Church of England.
David was born on November 1, 1927, in Stamford Hill, north London, into a family of committed Baptist Christians.
He passed his 11 , but was ineligible for grammar school because his family moved.
Then the Second World War broke out and he was evacuated to Hertfordshire, where air raids further interrupted his education.
Aged 14, he returned to London and took on various jobs, including as a volunteer runner for the National Fire Service.
