Animal lover and artist who became 'house doctor' and election candidate dies aged 83

Born in Wellingborough, in Northamptonshire, during the Second World War to devout Catholic parents, she experienced the hardships of rationing, air raids and post-war Britain.

It would stand her in good stead throughout her many distinct roles both in a work capacity and creatively.

Ultimately, it helped shaped her into a creative and compassionate woman who became determined to help others.

Born on May 3, 1942, Liz would later settle with her family in Norwich in 1948.

Her childhood changed dramatically when her aunt died, and her two disabled cousins and grandmother came to live with them.

From a young age, Liz took on a caregiving role, nurturing both people and animals with unwavering compassion.
