Social media blamed for new low as childhood vaccination rates slump

New figures have shown that one in 10 children in Norfolk are not up to date with various immunisations by the time they turn five.

The alarming statistics show a new low for the four-in-one booster - which protects from polio, whooping cough, tetanus and diphtheria - with the rates now at 88.8pc.

The rate for the MMR vaccine (measles, mumps and rubella) sit fractionally over 90pc, meaning one in 10 children are not up to date.

The slump has prompted public health bosses to renew pleas for parents to bring their children forward for their jabs - while experts believe social media noise can........
