An inquest into Ray Middleton's death heard that emergency services were called to his home in Sprowston, Norwich, on the evening of March 27 after he had suffered a fall.

When they arrived, the 80-year-old appeared alert and was showing no sign of serious injury.

But when the paramedics began to try and help him up, he became distressed and started to complain of chest pains, before going into cardiac arrest.
