Folk feel 'forgotten' as council goes quiet over pledge to make road safer

Those in Beckhithe say the road between Little Melton and Hethersett is "as dangerous as ever" after they called for safety measures like traffic calming or speed limits to be installed on Little Melton Road.

But since their pleas a month ago, they say nothing has changed.

Norfolk County Council, who is responsible for implementing the safety measures, say that legal processes to make these changes possible take time but they are looking into the situation.

Geoff Martin, 75, who lives in Beckhithe said: "There have been near misses after near misses in the last month.

His wife, Lou, added: "It's just ridiculous. It's so simple but it feels like Beckhithe has been forgotten about."
