The company was hoping to be granted a licence so its under-construction-restaurant in Norwich’s Mousehold Lane will be able to run 24/7, once it opens.

But members of Norwich City Council’s licensing committee - who had been due to make a decision on Friday - decided they wanted to visit the site, off Plaford Road in Sprowston, before making a decision.

It came after people living close to the site told the committee they feared a 24/7 drive-through McDonald’s would lead to increased noise and anti-social behaviour.
