Andrea, who does not wish to give her full name, was by the Quality Discounts shop on Barrack Street when the unprovoked attack took place on Sunday morning.

At just after 9am, three boys deliberately rammed into her on their bikes. Another came from behind and hit her across the side of the head with some sort of object, which she did not manage to identify.

The victim, who is in her 40s, said: "It was hard enough to knock my earbuds out.

"A man in a black van saw the whole thing and drove after them.
