One dead as heavy rains lash Kerala, flooding wreaks havoc in several districts
New Delhi: Torrential rains continued to batter parts of Kerala over the weekend. It claimed one life and triggered widespread flooding and damage across several districts. The IMD said that the heavy downpour was a result of a “well-marked low-pressure area” over the Southeast Arabian Sea and Lakshwadeep. It is likely to intensify into a depression within 24 hours.
The deceased was identified as Parappallil Thomas (66) from Idduki district, according to a report by the Hindustan Times. He died after his two-wheeler was caught under a and slip near Vellaramkunnu late Saturday night.........
