South Africa reach 187/7 despite Bumrah’s excellence

Bumrah (3/15) reduced SA, who opted to bat, to 20/3 inside four overs but Miller (63) and Brevis (45) put on a 97-run fourth-wicket stand came off only 51 balls to pull them up.

New Delhi: Jasprit Bumrah’s wicket-taking ability restrcited South Africa to 187 for seven despite Davi Miller’s stroke-filled half century in a T20 World Cup Group 1 Super Eights match in Ahmedabad on Sunday.

Bumrah (3/15) reduced SA, who opted to bat, to 20/3 inside four overs but Miller (63) and Brevis (45) put on a 97-run fourth-wicket stand came off only 51 balls to pull them up.

Brevis was dismissed after 29 balls (3×4, 3×6) after which Tristan Stubbs (44) took over the run-making mantle with Miller.

Arshdeep Singh (2/38) was also impressive with both new and old balls for the host side.
