One arrested after Liverpool parade collision injures over 50 people
New Delhi: Merseyside Police have arrested a man on suspicion of attempted murder after he allegedly drove a car into pedestrians during Liverpool FC’s victory parade on Sunday.
Over 50 people were injured when a car rammed into a crowd assembled at Water Street in the centre of Liverpool city minuted after the parade came to an end.
Police said that a 53-year-old white British man, hailing from West Derby, who is believed to be the driver, has been taken into custody on suspicion of arrested murder, driving while unfit after consumption of drugs and dangerous driving, reports ESPN.
Those injured received treatments at hospitals and of these 11 still remain admitted but are reported to be in stable condition and responding to treatment.
