England on the mat after skipper Shubman Gill's record double century

New Delhi: Shubman Gill took it upon himself to stamp India’s authority on the second Test as he set multiple records on way to his maiden double century (269) as England trailed by a massive 510 runs at stumps on the second day.

Gill began from where he left the Edgbaston ground unbeaten on 114 alongside Ravindra Jadeja (41 not out) on the opening day with India at 310/5.

They put together a 201-run sixth wicket partnership to put the visitors in the driving seat and even though Jadeja was dismmised at 89, Gill carried on to become the first Asian skipper to score a Test double-century in England.
