A man wearing a dog mask joined Khandwa Municipal Corporation opposition leader Deepak Rathore at a public hearing to protest the city’s stray dog problem. Rathore alleged irregularities in a four-year sterilisation programme that reportedly cost Rs 40 lakh, citing thousands of dog-bite cases and demanding a detailed probe.

Indore: A bizarre protest over Khandwa’s growing stray dog problem grabbed attention during Tuesday’s weekly public hearing when a man wearing a canine mask arrived at the Collectorate alongside Municipal Corporation Leader of Opposition Deepak Rathore.

Security personnel initially stopped the pair from entering because of the unusual appearance. They were later allowed inside after opposition leaders intervened.
