New Delhi: Inaugurating the new – Jammu Division of the Indian Railways on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi pointed out how aspirational India wants to accomplish more in less time and people wish to travel long-distance journeys swiftly and in ease. He stressed that the day is not far when the country will see its first bullet train in action. Describing the creation of Jammu Division, the 70th of the Indian Railways as a “monumental step”, PM Modi said the modernisation of railways with high-speed trains like Vande Bharat, Amrit Bharat Stations and Namo Bharat Rails have changed rail travel in the country.

According to the PM, the government has employed a four-pronged strategy for railway modernisation including revamping the rail infrastructure, spreading railway connectivity, providing modern facilities for passengers and using the railways for providing employment and supporting industries. Meanwhile, the work on Dedicated Freight Corridors is going on rapidly which will not only reduce pressure on regular tracks considerably but also create more opportunities for the movement of high-speed trains.
