New Delhi: After a decade in power, AAP has finally hit a roadblock in Delhi. BJP is forming the government in the national capital after ousting the Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP. While there are umpteen reasons for the party to win or lose any state election, the one which will come back to haunt the AAP most is the performance of its INDIA-bloc partner Congress. While it is too early to know the exact damage that the Congress has caused to AAP’s prospects in Delhi, it is confirmed that it will be substantial. And the Opposition would need to quickly re-group and re-strategize. Bihar elections are not as far as they seem.

Meanwhile, both AAP and Congress chose to forget any lessons they learned from the Haryana elections. Congress lost narrowly in Haryana and could have won easily if it had taken the INDIA-bloc allies along and micro-managed those elections. But, if Congress failed to adjust AAP in Delhi and eventually lost elections, AAP decided to return the favour to Congress in Delhi. And just like AAP failed to win any seat in Haryana, Congress too failed to win any seat in Delhi. However, in his ego tussle with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Kejriwal forgot the most crucial lesson from the Haryana elections — Congress lost in its arrogance. The same thing seems to have happened in Delhi.
