New Delhi: Union Minister and Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) Chief Jitan Ram Manjhi on Tuesday said that his party is planning to contest at least 40 seats in the Bihar assembly elections later this year. Speaking in Lakhisarai, Manjhi said although there has been no talks of seat sharing between the NDA allies for the Bihar elections so far, the allies have begun preparations at their respective level to strengthen the alliance. “HAM has been holding party meetings from the block level to constituency level since the last few months to consolidate its vote bank and there has been a good response among the people. As a result, this time the party workers and leaders want HAM to contest on at least 40 seats where we are strong,” said Manjhi. The party had contested only 7 seats in 2020 and won 4. Manjhi has now given a message to his NDA allies – JD(U) and BJP – that he would not be satisfied with 7 seats this time.
