New Delhi: Naomi Osaka kept her composure to defeat Karolína Muchová in straight sets 6-4, 7-6(3) to reach the semifinals of the US Open on Thursday. She will be joined in the semi-finals by Amanda Anisimova, who took her Wimbledon final revenge and defeated second seed Iga Swiatek 6-4, 6-3 in one of the biggest shocks of the tournament.

The No. 11 seed Muchova was looking for her third straight semi-final appearance in New York, but her challenge fell short against more focused Osaka. The Japanese player was making her first major quarterfinal appearance since winning the Australian Open in 2021. The former world No. 1 came into the match on the back of a dominating win over third seed Coco Gauff.
