New Delhi: Chelsea opened their Premier League campaign with a frustrating goalless draw against Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge in London, while Nottingham Forest started their season in style with a 3-1 victory against Brentford at the City Ground on Sunday, August 17.
The Blues created a lot of chances in either half, and Palace saw a first-half free-kick ruled out following a VAR check. A first-half brace from Chris Wood and Dan Ndoye’s first goal gave Forest an unassailable 3-0 lead at halftime. Brentford scored a goal in the second half through a penalty, but it wasn’t enough as Nuno Espírito Santo’s side grabbed all three points.
