Rs 6,969-crore Delhi tunnel cleared: New 6-lane link to connect Dwarka Expressway with Vasant Kunj

The CCEA has cleared a Rs 6,969.67 crore, six-lane road tunnel project in Delhi. The 8.1 km link will connect Dwarka Expressway with Nelson Mandela Marg in Vasant Kunj and may ease traffic from Gurugram, Dwarka and IGI Airport towards south Delhi.

New Delhi: The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has cleared a major road project for Delhi, approving an 8.1-kilometer, six-lane tunnel link between Dwarka Expressway and Nelson Mandela Marg in Vasant Kunj. The project will cost an estimated Rs 6,969.67 crore.

For anyone who has been stuck near Mahipalpur, Vasant Kunj, IGI Airport or the Gurugram side during peak traffic, this is a big urban mobility update. The new link is aimed at improving travel between west Delhi and south Delhi, with better access for vehicles coming from Dwarka, Gurugram and the airport........
