New Delhi: Ahead of Bangladesh’s February 12 general election, former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s son Sajeed Wazed Joy has launched a sharp attack on the election process. He even called it “rigged” and urged citizens to boycott the vote. Speaking via video link at a public event in India. Joy said the country was being run by extremists and warned that the upcoming election would lack legitimacy.

Joy was addressing a discussion around the book Inshallah Bangladesh: The Story of an Unfinished Revolution, where he spoke publicly on the issue for the first time from an international platform. He alleged that Bangladesh is currently under the control of extremist forces........
