New Delhi: Astronomers have investigated the four largest moons of Uranus with the Hubble Space Telescope. The icy satellites of Ariel, Umbriel, Titania and Oberon, all named after characters from the works of William Shakespeare, are at a distance of 3.2 billion kilometres from the Earth. The astronomers could determine the characteristics of the surfaces of these moons using the ultraviolet imaging capabilities of Hubble.
