Muneeba Ali gets run out in controversial fashion during India-Pakistan clash, here's what MCC law says
New Delhi: Pakistan batter Muneeba Ali was run out in a controversial manner during her side’s clash against India at the R Premadasa Stadium in the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 on Sunday, October 05. Muneeba had initially made her ground, but her bat was in the air when a throw from Deepti Sharma hit the stumps at the non-striker’s end, leading to her dismissal.
The controversial dismissal took place on the final ball of the 4th over during Pakistan’s 248-run chase against India in Colombo. Indian pacer Kanto Gaud hit Muneeba plumb on the pads and appealed for an lbw, which was turned down by the on-field umpire. Muneeba and her batting partner, Sadaf Shamas, stole a single after India’s appeal was turned down, and the Women in Blue decided not to review.
