India thrash Pakistan by 88 runs in Women's ODI World Cup 2025 to extend perfect record
New Delhi: India hammered Pakistan by 88 runs in their group-stage clash to bag their second win in a row in the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025. Pacer Kranti Gaud played a starring role with the ball after a brilliant cameo from wicket-keeper Richa Ghosh helped India post a fighting total of 247 runs on the board, batting first in the high-pressure contest. India extended their perfect record against Pakistan to 12-0 in women’s ODIs with their clinical victory.
After opener Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur’s failure, the middle order and the lower middle order once again stepped up to help India put up a fighting total on the board against their arch-rivals at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Mandhana was dismissed cheaply on 23, while skipper Harmanpreet could only manage 19 runs against Pakistan.
