New Delhi: World no.2 Iga Swiatek extended solidarity with the victims of the Los Angeles (LA) wildfires with a heartwarming gesture after her victory against Czech Republic’s Katerina Siniakova in the Australian Open 2025 on Monday. Swiatek progressed to the second round with a 6-3, 6-4 victory against Siniakova at the John Cain Arena.

The Pole looked in control right from the start of her clash against Siniakova and got the better of her Czech opponent comfortably in straight sets. Swiatek broke Siniakova twice in the first set to go 5-3 up before taking the set 6-3. She broke the Czech again at the start of the second set but Siniakova fought back. However, Swiatek prevailed in the end to clinch........
