Vindicated
Last year, three defense department officials were marched out of the Pentagon under the shadow of the accusation that they were leaking classified information. These included Dan Caldwell (an occasional contributor to NR), Colin Carroll, and Darin Selnick.
I’ve known and collaborated with Caldwell in the past, and said more or less on The Editors‘ podcast that I’d eat my hat if he were revealed as a leaker. I’ve seen him act with the kind of integrity the Marine Corps instills in men like him, even in the face of political incentives that would twist others. Also, knowing his views on geopolitics better than his critics, I knew some of the alleged leaks made no sense, as Caldwell would have been supportive of the president’s policies.
The New York Times reported last night:
Nearly a year later, that investigation has turned up no proof that Mr. Caldwell or the other two Trump administration officials — Colin Caroll and Darin Selnick — committed any wrongdoing.

Now, Caldwell, a staunch supporter of the Trump administration, has been hired back into the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.
