In an era defined by rapid change and growing interconnection, culture and art remain among the most powerful and enduring tools of diplomacy. They communicate across languages, borders and beliefs, creating the common ground where dialogue can flourish. This month, as the ICOM Dubai Summit convened in the United Arab Emirates, an Israeli delegation of 11 museums and one leading startup joined participants from around the world. Our presence reflects a shared commitment to cultural exchange, innovation and partnership — demonstrating how creativity and heritage can connect communities and strengthen mutual understanding.

In the city of Haifa, where my museums are located, coexistence is not a slogan, but a lived reality. Jews, Christians, Muslims, Druze and Baha’is share the same schools and cultural spaces. Our museums extend that coexistence, offering places where communities meet, learn and reflect together. Art in Haifa does not belong to one identity or tradition; it serves as a bridge between them.
